Lunch in Luang Prabang, Laos for Boun Pi Mai Lao or Lao New Year celebration with Fish Fondue or Joom Pa. We were eating Fish Fondue for brunch and didn’t stop eating until it was time to go watch the Nang Sang Khan or Miss Luang Prabang Procession.

What I found interesting about this particular Fish Fondue is the use of young coconut juice and meat in the broth. One of the male relatives just climbed the coconut tree and cut down a few coconuts to add to the fondue.
